Rockledge Ranch Living History Association and several local American Indian Non-Profit Organizations will host the 1st Annual Garden of the Gods Powwow at Rockledge Ranch on American Indian Day, Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Traditionally, the Powwow is to promote the traditions and culture of the American Indian in the most positive manner, while providing the Indian people the opportunity to participate, practice, teach, and exchange tribal traditions among all tribes.
The Garden of the Gods Powwow at Rockledge Ranch will provide the Indian community with the opportunity to enlighten the non-Indian about the history and culture of America’s first inhabitants.
Bring your families and enjoy the festivities that will promise to be a tremendous educational experience that will include but not limited to Singing, dancing, drumming, arts and crafts, and educational handouts. The children are sure to enjoy the traditional tipi as well. If you would like to participate in the planning and implementation of the Powwow (really good experience!) then contact Jim Ramierz: jimmyblackwolf@yahoo.com
If you find that hunger is setting in, try an Indian taco, buffalo burger, roasted corn or maybe a hamburger, hotdog or polish sausage if you prefer. American Indian vendors will display and sell their handmade merchandise.
This will be a great opportunity to come out and support Rockledge Ranch Living History Association as well as the local American Indian Non-Profit Organizations. Mark your calendar and come join the festivities.
If you are a vendor and wish to have a booth, please complete the attached vendor form and return it to the address in the form.
