Marguerite Arai Cantu (Southern Ute/Cherokee)
Marguerite Arai Cantu is a Senior Instructor at UCCS, Department of Communication – currently Course Director for Intercultural Communication and Interpersonal Communication. BA & MA in Communication from UCCS.
Previously she has served as Faculty Advisor to UCCS chapter of AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society) 1998 – 2009; Director of UCCS Office of Student Multicultural Affairs (1999-2002); and, Co-Chair NAC (Native American Advisory Council), (2003-2008).
Marguerite has been awarded several honors: El Pomar Emerging Leaders Development Program; Awards / Honors: 2009 UCCS Faculty Award for Diversity and Inclusion; 2008 Culturally Responsive Teacher – UCCS College of Education;
2004 El Pomar Scholarship Recipient – Community Leadership Program, Center for Creative Leadership
